BB Social Dining is a licensed concept tucked away in Dubai’s Gate Village financial district. Derived from the Arabic word “habibi” which means love, BB Social Dining or bb for short is the brainchild of three owners, chief executive (Alex Stumpf), operations (Spero Panagakis) and business development operators as well.

BB is far from your average restaurant. For starters, the interior was designed by James Michael Lees of Studio Hopscotch in London and to set it apart from other Asian restaurants, he replaced overused oriental design with a refined European interior.

It is also divided into three levels – the restaurant, kitchen and lounge bar, and the outdoor garden and terrace areas. All these elements are linked together by a vast spiral staircase which literally gave the restaurant its unique touch.

If you’ve ever been to a restaurant, you know their signature dishes include the bao rolls which are vegan and the baked goods are made from scratch in the kitchen overnight by a designated baker.

The reason for my visit is that they created a series of new #BBSecretMenu dishes to showcase the specials and celebrate the restaurant’s first anniversary in November.

Some of the #BBSecretmenu dishes we’ve tried include Wagyu katsu, crispy tuna tartare, salt and pepper squid, and sea bream ceviche.

For the bao, they introduced the lamb kofta at a price of 55 AED. And for the BBQ section, the highlight of the dinner was the truffle sirloin and the lobster with wasabi. It was all truly amazing and I cannot find fault with any of the dishes.

The service is some of the best I have ever experienced in Dubai. The staff were the most attentive and kept a close eye on each and every guest and we didn’t have to follow up at all.

Overall the BB dining experience is certainly one of the most memorable and I have found everything from the food to the service to be simply outstanding. It is a very laid back, laid back and friendly place and highly recommended even for the most demanding and sophisticated palates.
